The following are some painting techniques that you can use to create an extra amazing effect.
Double Load
This is created by using two colours on a single brush. Each corner of the damp paintbrush is dipped into one of the selected shades and then stroked back and forth before it is applied. This method is easier than drying one stroke first before adding a second.
Scruffy Painting
This effect is created using a paintbrush that is pounced on a smooth surface. Once paint is added and applied to the work, the colour seems to spread around. This is how moss or centres of flowers are perfected.
For specific objects that you might want to place in the work, here are some tricks to create them properly.
Dots
These are made using the tip of the brush handle. It is dipped to the paint and tapped gently on the item to be painted.
Making Letters and Ribbons
The former is created using a script liner brush. The text is drawn into the project with a pencil first and then covered. For the latter, the hand is allowed to roam freely.
Making Leaves
The same method applies. Achieving different sizes is made easy as long as different brush sizes are used. A realistic-looking one can be done using the first presented style, which is double load. Gentle pressure is also applied. A sudden pull of the brush towards the stem creates the dramatic effect that manifests once it is finished.
Flowers
A solid design has to be created first before details are added. When it comes to the petals, different types of brushes can be used such as foam, camel hair, stipple, and stencil. For the stems, different sizes do the trick.
Apply these techniques on your present and you are guaranteed that your offering will be treasured and valued.
